The Wonder Factory

As it’s the start of a new year or better yet, the start of a new decade, it’s about time you start getting your Instagram game together. Are you always pining over someone else’s feed and wondering how you can get THAT perfect shot, then this latest pop-up offering in Dalston could be right up your street.

The Wonder Factory Pop-up will be home to a generous 15 rooms of Instagram backdrop dreaminess, with themes including a tropical indoor beach, a 250 sq.ft. marshmallow swimming pool and an intergalactic mirror room.

With just a £9 entry fee, until 9th February you can take some one-of-a-kind Instagram snaps and have your feed be the envy of all your friends.

The Independent Art Fair

I think its safe to say that even though Christmas seems like a distant memory, we are all still trying to beat those blues as we tackle the bitter weather together! That’s why it’s always good to have some plans in the diary at this time of year and The Independent Art Fair that takes place at the end of the month is just right.

From 30th January to 2nd February at The Mall Galleries in London’s St James’s, this year’s fair will have an in-depth focus on London, where the exhibitors will be artists qualified from the capital’s most esteemed schools and colleges and will showcase pieces that celebrate everything they love about London, from everyday life in the city to renowned landmarks.

With an aptly named theme of ‘London Calling’ visitors can expect a melange of wonderful masterpieces that range from some with a price tag of £100 and others a little dearer at £200,000! This city is undoubtedly known and loved for its diverse art scene, and this is the perfect opportunity to celebrate and admire it!

BRAT Restaurant: The Review

Stuck in a rut and visiting the same old restaurants all the time? Well, be prepared for a flavour sensation because Brat on Redchurch Street in Shoreditch is one to visit. I’m drooling just thinking about it.

Instantly charmed by the rustic and modest décor, I was excited to take a seat a seat and be blown away by the food that I’d been hearing so much about – SPOILER ALERT – it did not disappoint.

Firstly, the menu is constantly changing, apart from a few signature dishes which remain all year round, which is fantastic because you know that everything is seasonal and is as fresh as possible. Secondly, it doesn’t matter what you order because every plate is even more delicious than the last.

You start with a few nibbles to whet your appetite, you can’t miss out on the Chopped Egg Salad, Velvet Crab and Grilled Anchovy Bread – this bread is a MUST. To start with, the Hake Kokotxas really are something special. After this, your taste buds will be well and truly tantalised and ready for the main event. I have two words for you here, Roast Duck. This Roast Duck would be worth travelling miles for and with the Smoked Potatoes on the side, you’ll already be booking a reservation for the following day so you can have the experience all over again.

Now, I’m not usually one for dessert but the Cheesecake was enough to convert me, I am now a dessert person.

Book a table now, you’ll thank me on this one, trust me.
