Making your bed in the morning might just be the most important thing you do each day. Plus, get acquainted with French artist Graffmatt and Soho's hidden watering hole, Disrepute.

The Importance of Making Your Bed

Starting your day off the right way means something different to everybody: a slap-up breakfast, a strong coffee or a long hot shower, all three are extremely tempting options.

However, according to a highly- esteemed Navy Seal Admiral, William Harry McRaven, the only way that you should be starting your day is by making your bed.

Starting each and every day with this simple task will provide you with a great sense of achievement and will make you more productive as the day goes on. But here, watch the video of the man himself explaining, it will be a lot more beneficial than listening to me drone on!

Urban Portraits by Graffmatt

Street art is without question having its time in the sun, so it seems appropriate for today’s artist spotlight to be on French-born creative, Graffmatt, otherwise known as Matthieu Lainé. This 32-year old artiste is a computer graphic designer by trade but is a portrait artist on the side. But Graffmatt doesn’t just create any old portraits, his work has a twist inspired by his passion for street art.

Motivated by his love of urban culture, Graffmatt always creates his artwork while listening to hip hop music in order to give it a raw and authentic edge. The combination of portrait artwork with hints of graffiti, gives Graffmatt’s work an original yet thought-provoking edge, which could be enough to change your mind about street art if you aren’t already sold.

Disrepute: The Hideaway Haunt

After having launched back in December 2016, Disrepute has built up quite the reputation over the last year as one of Soho’s most luxe members’ cocktail bars. Become enveloped in the mysterious ambience of this hidden lair and discover a library of different spirits that will knock your socks off!

Before we talk about the cocktails, we must touch on the alluring décor: rich tones, velvet and brass, could that combination of interiors sound anymore élite? You can either tuck yourself away on one of the plush couches or be part of the action at the bar, where the mixologists are more than happy to talk you through the menu and concoct a variety of tipples that suit your desires.

If you want to escape the hustle of Soho for something a little more exclusive, then Disrepute is beckoning you.
