Kelaty House development wins planning permission

14th September 2012

Londonewcastle and their joint venture development partner UK & European Investments have announced that planning permission has been granted (subject to legal agreement) for the Kelaty House mixed use development in Wembley.

David Barnett, CEO of Londonewcastle comments, “We are excited that Brent Council has given the go ahead to a significant new addition to the continued regeneration success story in Wembley.”

The scheme overlooks Wembley Stadium on First Way and is made up of five buildings:

  • Four of these will provide up to 599 rooms of student accommodation in a mixture of clusters and studios that will appeal to a wide variety of students and be arranged around a central courtyard alongside supporting communal facilities.
  • A 198-room hotel featuring a new restaurant with outside space and underground car parking makes up the fifth building.
  • A further 6,500sq.ft commercial and community space will be located at street level.
  • A landscaped courtyard and improved landscaping to the perimeter complete the scheme.

The development, designed by Ian Simpson Architects to high design and sustainability standards is targeting a BREEAM rating of Excellent.

The completed development will make a significant contribution to the continuing regeneration of the area and is pivotal in the implementation of the Wembley Masterplan.

Barney Kelham, Head of UK & European Investments added, “I am delighted the scheme has been given the green light. This is a great project and will provide high quality student accommodation and a hotel to serve the Wembley area. This project, alongside our recently developed No.1 Kingsway development, is part of the exciting on going property development taking place across the capital.”
