Following his success in Primrose Hill, the legendary ‘dp’ Daniel Poole - the mastermind who brought you Housewives on Fire Amsterdam 1990, Ghetto Couture 1991, World Safety Systems 1993, Techno Couture 1994, World Sound Systems 1996, The House of Beauty and Pain &Culture 1996, will be recreating his famous shop/ gallery/ installation, within the gallery.

Offering installations by the legendary dpdanielpoole himself, alongside a stable of artists and London creatives including, a neon extravaganza by Chris Bracey, Ye olde sign writer Jac, New York found objects artist Merrill, assemblage artist Laurence Poole, figurative painter Jennifer Louise Martin, multi media artist Sue Golden as well as a cornucopia of eclectic curiosities.

Savvy London shoppers know the quirky art, design and found objects shop/gallery in Primrose Hill. It has become a cult independent store and has established a large fan base amongst local creatives and celebrities. Ever changing art and objects share the space – from a full size, Louis Vuitton-style 1930’s double base carrier (looking like it has just fallen from the Titanic), American Airlines sheepskin-lined airline seats, a spaceship from a 1960’s Paris fairground, to the lightbox stage door sign from the Windmill Theatre, Meg Mathews’ custom 6 foot shiny pink fibreglass Japanese bunny, and an aluminium dentists phantom skull…

About the curator:

Daniel Poole is one of the cult fashion designers of the 80s. He won a Queen’s award for export for his avant-garde tailoring. He is credited as being one of the founding fathers of the European street wear industry. For those clubbing in the 90’s the dp logo was a badge of honour with the logo going on to appear everywhere - from Take That Videos to Tony Blair’s Party Political Broadcast and episodes of Star Trek.

Poole’s anarchic politicised, anti-corporate clothes were sold all over the globe, the US, Japan and throughout Europe. Since 2000, Poole has been concentrating on interior design and curating, working on Pikes Hotel for Ibiza Rocks & with Chris Bracey’s God’s Own Junkyard, as well as searching for new talent to display in his Primrose Hill galleries.
