Levi’s and Google have teamed up to create an interactive denim jacket which consists of ‘technology’ woven into the fabric of the sleeves. Once the wearer connects the jacket via Bluetooth to their smart phone, they will be able to control key functions by brushing or tapping the cuff of the sleeve. For example, double tap to start or stop music from your phone. A subtle vibration will alert you of any incoming calls or messages. Telling people you have smart fibres of technology woven into your jacket sounds a bit crazy and I’m sure you’ll be given a couple of side-eyes. But this time next year it might be the norm, as both the creators have planned to release the smart jacket by the end of the year.
