The Artist, Leo Villareal, is very well known for his iconic light sculpturing of the Bay Bridge in San Francisco, and has designed the lighting for each bridge across the Thames. Leo focuses on using and transforming public space into Art and is internationally known for his site-specific architectural works and light sculptures. This £20m project will aim to bring the presence of the river back to life for visitors and residents. Sadiq Khan expresses his positivity towards the project and says it will be ‘a major contribution to the growing importance of London’s night-time economy’. Also making it aware that the project has been privately funded by companies and through philanthropic sources, and not through the pockets of tax payers.
