Highlights from this week in London. Read about everything from architecture to food and delve a little deeper into London's culture.

Issue 07

This issue sees us profile an artist who paints profiles, our project space links fashion design and art ahead of London Fashion Week and friend of LN Ryan Gander opens his show at Lisson Gallery.

London Graffiti, Anna Laurini

Walking around Holborn/Bloomsbury you may have come across variations of Anna Laurini's work – often plastered across closed or abandoned shops.

This piece below really caught my attention, as I find it really interesting that in a busy, humming city a simple phrase or caption can make such an impact on passersby. I would love to know how many people have walked past it and smiled or have taken a photo and shown it to a loved one.

Laurini's style is said to be inspired by the abstract impressionism movement which is very apparent in her latest work.

Smiley Cultures

Over the next month or so, the town will be hosting its annual celebration of world class creativity. Next week is London Design Festival, swiftly followed in October by Frieze Art Fair.

It all kicks off this weekend with London Fashion Week. Big Spring/Summer 2016 shows are anticipated from wonder boy, JW Anderson, innovative shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood and the man widely acknowledged to have spearheaded a revival of British high fashion, Christopher Kane.

Before all of this, make sure you catch the Patternity show at our project space on Redchurch St. Their 5 day festival will map the connections between Fashion, Design and Art.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork, the new show from Ryan Gander opens at the Lisson Gallery on Sept 25th.

Since he worked with us 5 years ago on a Londonewcastle/ArtAngel project, Ryan has rapidly risen to become the leading young light in conceptual art.

Among other things, he happens also to be an expert on radical architect, Erno Goldfinger. No surprise then that RG has recently agreed to collaborate on our development plans for the Balfron Tower.

Exciting times.
