Issue 01

In this issue we revisit Forest Live 2015, take a look into the exhibition of Barbara Hepworth and some nostalgic literature from Viv Albertine.

Tom Odell Forest Live 2015 – Bedgebury Pinetum

Held by the Forestry Commission, Forest Live is a summer music tour that sees the latest artists performing in the middle of national parks across the country. We were lucky enough to visit the beautiful Bedgebury Pinetum Forest in Kent to see the extremely talented Tom Odell.

Supporting Tom on this occasion was Rae Morris, who's song ‘Love Again’ is featured on the latest Boohoo.com advert, and young new artist Alfie Connor who we liked so much that we downloaded all of his songs on Spotify then and there.

The gig had a brilliant atmosphere and contained just the right amount of people. There were food trucks and a bar, and plenty of beautiful countryside to walk around.

Barbara Hepworth Retrospective

This summer at Tate Britain is a major retrospective that charts Barbara Hepworth’s progress from her earliest surviving carvings to the large-scale bronzes of the 1960s. Among the highlights are four large sculptures in sumptuous African hardwood – the high point of her post-war carving career – reunited in one room. A must see.

Clothes, Music, Boys

Essential Summer Reading List
No.1
Clothes, Music, Boys by punk pioneer Viv Albertine. Published by Faber.
A funny and evocative memoir with amazing pictures by the Slits guitarist.
Here she is modelling Laura Ashley, pre -punk days, with a very fresh faced Paul Simon. And with a similarly faced Sid Vicious.
